When Sav Rocca lined up for goal, you didn't ask if he had the distance. You just wondered how far into the stands it was going to land.

Saverio Rocca was a mountain of a man with a left boot that could launch a footy into the next postcode. A towering presence in the forward line, the Collingwood cult hero was famous for his monster kicks, big grabs and ability to bring the Magpie Army to its feet.

Through the 90s, Sav became one of the most recognisable big forwards in the game. Over 500 career AFL goals, countless long-range bombs and a reputation for giving the footy an absolute hiding.

And when his AFL days were done? The big man took that famous boot all the way to the NFL. Not bad for a bloke from the suburbs of Melbourne.
